After Going Viral and Facing Backlash, PT Timah Employee Apologizes to Honorary Workers

Holiday Ayo - Dwi Citra Weni, a PT Timah employee who went viral on social media for allegedly demeaning honorary workers, has publicly apologized to the people of Bangka Belitung, particularly to honorary workers.
During a press conference held at a café on Saturday (February 1, 2025), Dwi Citra Weni expressed deep regret over her statement, which sparked public outrage.
"I, Dwi Citra Weni, sincerely apologize for my statement on TikTok that has caused controversy. I had no intention of insulting or belittling honorary workers in that post," she stated.
She clarified that the word she used in her post was "hororer," not "honorer," and claimed she had never expected the post to go viral or trigger such a negative reaction from the public.
In response to the controversy, PT Timah has taken decisive action and is considering disciplinary measures against Dwi Citra Weni. She now faces potential dismissal, as this is not the first time she has been involved in a similar social media controversy.
Dwi Citra Weni explained that her original intent behind the post was merely to promote her online business.
