Holiday Ayo -

Indonesia's national team head coach, Patrick Kluivert, has arrived in Indonesia ahead of the third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers against Australia and Bahrain, scheduled for March 20 and 25, 2025.

According to the official PSSI website (pssi.org), Kluivert arrived in Indonesia alongside PSSI Technical Advisor Jordi Cruyff, following their stay in the Netherlands. Their arrival was warmly welcomed by PSSI Chairman and Indonesia’s Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir.

Erick Thohir expressed his hopes for Kluivert’s role in elevating the quality of Indonesian football.

“Alhamdulillah, Coach Patrick Kluivert and PSSI Technical Advisor Jordi Cruyff have arrived in Jakarta. Alex Pastoor and Danny Lanzaat will be joining on Wednesday. I would like to extend a special welcome to Cruyff, who is visiting Indonesia for the first time. I hope he gains a positive impression of our country—its people, culture, cuisine, and the immense passion we have for football. Together, we will build Indonesian football on a global scale,” said Erick Thohir.

Additionally, Thohir highlighted the national team selection process ahead of the crucial matches against Australia and Bahrain. He affirmed that the provisional squad selection aligns with the needs of Kluivert and his assistant coaches. According to Thohir, the squad composition is well-balanced across all positions.

“I am pleased with the provisional squad selected by Coach Patrick Kluivert, his first list as head coach of the national team. This selection was made in consultation with assistant coaches Alex Pastoor and Danny Lanzaat. The squad is well-rounded, featuring the best players in all positions, including three newly naturalized players. Let’s all support the team in securing maximum points in these two upcoming matches,” Thohir added.
