All operations in Nusa Dua Bali will use electric vehicles

Holiday Ayo - The Nusa Dua, Bali, which is managed by PT Indonesian Tourism Development (ITDC), as part of the InJourney Group, is starting to accelerate the implementation of a green ecosystem in the area.

BUMN operations in Nusa Dua, Bali will soon start using electric vehicles. In the initial stage, electric shuttle buses and electric motors were implemented.

“Our task is to help achieve emission reduction targets in Indonesia, where in the tourism sector, ITDC is our partner in the application of electric vehicle use. Currently IBC is preparing electric motorbikes with battery swapping stations and electric Shuttle Buses for tourism service operations in Nusa Dua," said IBC Director of Institutional and Commercial Relations Reynaldi Istanto in his statement, Saturday (13/7).

Not only electric vehicles, this collaboration will also be extended to several other energy uses. Such as energy storage or energy storage systems for power back up needs and solar panels, electric buses or e-buses, electric cars and other similar aspects.

“The use of operational vehicles in the form of electric motorbikes along with battery swapping stations and electric Shuttle Buses, is the first step in our big efforts in the tourism sector, and will continue to be developed into other forms of energy so that the target of 50 percent reduction in the tourism sector can be achieved," he explained.

Meanwhile, ITDC Operations Director Troy Warokka said that his party was pursuing sustainable tourism by using environmentally friendly vehicles in Nusa Sua.

“This collaboration aims to make the area an example of Clean Energy Bali, supported by the Bali Provincial Government. ITDC has implemented a green ecosystem program, including the use of electric motorbikes and the use of solar energy in ITDC operations," he said.

“Collaboration with IBC will also be increased for the use of more EVs and environmentally friendly energy with battery energy storage in the future," added Troy.
