DJ Koo's Inscription on Barbie Hsu's Gravestone Has Deep Meaning

Holiday Ayo - DJ Koo's heart has been filled with sorrow since the passing of Barbie Hsu in February 2025.

Although his wife has passed away, the Korean musician remains deeply devoted to the memory of the actress.

Recently, it was revealed that DJ Koo even included a vow of loyalty on Barbie Hsu's gravestone, as reported by SBS Star on Wednesday (September 17).

It reads, "Remember Together Forever," in English, along with a sweet message in Korean: "Love you forever - Jun Jun," referring to DJ Koo's real name, Koo Jun Yup.

Barbie Hsu's passing was indeed too sudden. The Taiwanese actress, best known for the legendary drama Meteor Garden, passed away at the age of 49 after contracting the flu and pneumonia following a vacation in Japan. For DJ Koo, this loss was clearly a huge blow.

The couple had just been enjoying their married life before death separated them. Since Barbie Hsu's passing, DJ Koo has often been seen spending time at the Chin Pao San cemetery, where his wife is buried.

He often comes with a folding chair, lingering in front of the grave, bringing food, drinks, flowers, photos, and even watching re-runs of Meteor Garden.

More than just a tombstone inscription, "Remember Together Forever" holds deep meaning for both of them.

While still together, DJ Koo and Barbie Hsu tattooed the phrase on their bodies as a symbol of eternal love.

The inspiration came from the song "Remember" by the French band Air, which they heard when they first started dating.

The tattoo serves as a sweet reminder of their love journey, from their first love in the late 90s to their reunion after years apart.

DJ Koo even inked Barbie's name in Mandarin and Korean on his body, along with the coordinates to Taiwan, where Barbie was born and raised.

Looking back, their story truly feels like a drama. DJ Koo first met Barbie Hsu in Taiwan in 1998. Love at first sight ensued, but their relationship ended in 2000 because Koo's management did not agree.

Time passed, Barbie Hsu got married and divorced in 2011. From there the thread of old love blossomed again, Koo contacted Barbie, and they were reunited.

In one of her interviews with Vogue, Barbie once said words that now feel even deeper.

"If you love someone, chase them. If you don't love them anymore, break up. Because if you're not with that person, you'll never know what you can feel," Barbie told Vogue.
