Holiday Ayo - Kukup Beach is one of the favorite tourist destinations visited by local residents and tourists. This beach, which is located in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, has a beautiful panorama. This beach has white sand and shallow sea areas that can be visited on foot.

Kukup Beach is located in Kemadang Village, Tanjungsari District, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta. The distance from the center of Wonosari City is around 62 km. 

Kukup Gunungkidul Beach can be reached from the city of Yogyakarta by driving a vehicle for 2-3 hours. 

The condition of the road to Kukup Beach is quite good, visitors can use tour buses or private vehicles such as cars or motorbikes.

1. White sand 

The first attraction of Kukup Beach is its wide spread of white sand. The beauty of the white sand combined with the clear bluish sea water makes it look beautiful and charming. 

2. Shallow sea areas 

Kukup Beach has a fairly calm shallow sea area about 100 m from the shoreline. This shallow area is bordered by a mound of coral reef at the end of the beach as if to protect the beach from large waves.

The shallow area on the edge of Kukup beach contains coral reefs, starfish, and various kinds of unique marine ornamental fish and various other marine biota that you can clearly see from above. 

If there is a high tide, this beach is still flooded with clear water, especially in isolated low areas. Here we can look for ornamental fish that might be trapped in the puddle. You can walk to the end of the beach when the sea is low. 

3. Jumino Island 

To the east of Kukup beach there is a coral island called Jumino Island. Between Kukup Beach and Jumino Island is connected by a bridge which can be passed by tourists who want to see the island up close. 

On Jumino Island, a viewing post was purposely built for tourists who want to enjoy views of the open sea from the island.
