Foreign Tourists Involved in Mass Brawl at Pattaya Holi Festival

Holiday Ayo - A colorful and joyful event, the Amazing Thailand Grand Holi Festival Pattaya 2025, suddenly turned into a brawl arena.

The riot involving a group of foreign tourists from Myanmar tarnished the cultural festival that should have been lively.

The brawl occurred on Sunday (16/3) involving a group of tourists who were initially suspected of being of Indian descent.

Quoting The Pattaya News, Thursday (20/3) after being traced, it turned out that the group was not tourists from India but tourists from Myanmar.

The problem became more serious when one group approached the other group near the stage, which then triggered a fistfight.

The atmosphere turned chaotic. Festival security officers immediately intervened to prevent the situation from getting worse.

Shortly after, the Pattaya Police managed to arrest two Myanmar citizens who were suspected of being drunk and took them to the police station for further processing.

A visitor who was busy dancing when the brawl occurred admitted that he did not know for sure what caused the fight.

However, he tried to break up the rioters, although the attempt did not immediately calm the situation.

"They suddenly started hitting each other. No one knows what triggered it," the eyewitness said.

Police are now investigating the incident as a public disorder offence. Both parties involved could be fined up to 5,000 baht (£1,700) under Thai law for such offences.

News of the incident quickly spread online, with many expressing concern, with some saying they had seen the group drinking and taking pictures before the fight broke out.

Some expressed their frustration and said they would not attend a similar event again, feeling that the atmosphere at the festival was no longer safe.

Others called for the organisers to tighten up the rules around the event, with some even suggesting that similar festivals should be cancelled in the future to prevent violence and maintain cleanliness and order.
