Former Chelsea Player Critical After Murder Attempt

Holiday Ayo - A former Chelsea player suffered a terrible accident in France. He was the victim of an attempted murder and remains in critical condition.

According to the Athletic, Yann Gueho suffered this unfortunate fate. The former Chelsea player from 2009 to 2011 suffered serious injuries after being attacked with a knife in Choisy-le-Roi, on the outskirts of Paris, around November 9-10.

Gueho is currently hospitalized. He remains in critical condition and is being treated in the intensive care unit.

The perpetrator has been apprehended. A man has been charged with attempted murder in this case.

A woman has also been detained and charged with involvement in gang violence, but has been granted witness protection.

Yann Gueho is a former Chelsea player who was initially touted as a future star for France. He is said to have the qualities to become a great player.

The 31-year-old has received much praise from his colleagues. One such example was from Damien Dussaut, who worked with Gueho at Clairefontaine, France's youth national training center.

"It's very difficult when you tell people that Yann Gueho is more talented than (Kylian) Mbappé, than (Ousmane) Dembele. Everyone says, 'You're crazy, he doesn't even play football,'" he said.

"But I say, 'Guys, you have to see the talent he has. He can win games on his own. He's like a magician,'" he said.

Guyho's potential then faded due to a series of off-field issues. In 2016, at the age of 22, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which required treatment.

He was also undergoing treatment at the time of the attack.

"We are going through very difficult days. Yann has agreed to undergo very intensive treatment for his condition, which is very debilitating. To avoid endangering himself or others, he has accepted to live with only 10 percent of his physical capacity. This is very sad for him, considering everything he has done before. This situation makes him very vulnerable," said his mother, Anne-Marie.

"Today, we trust the justice system to understand how this tragedy could have happened and ensure that those responsible are fully prosecuted," said the mother of Yann Gueho, who also played for Lille and Nantes.
