Get to know the Figure of the Conglomerate Owner of Indomaret

Holiday Ayo - Indomaret is a retail business brand that is popular among Indonesians. Recently, the presence of parking attendants (jukir) at minimarkets such as Indomaret has again become a public conversation on social media. This is because the two outlets actually do not charge parking fees to visitors.
This was confirmed by the Marketing Communication Executive Director of PT Indomarco Prismatama, Bastari Akmal, who said that Indomaret had never collected a parking fee and had never employed a parking attendant.
The land is often used by parking attendants (jukir), so who is the owner behind the large Indomaret minimarket business? It is known that the Indomaret minimarket network is owned by an Indonesian tycoon, Anthoni Salim.
Anthoni Salim is the person behind the large Indomaret retail chain company. Apart from that, he is also the figure behind the huge Indofood instant noodle business, one of the largest Indomie instant noodle producers in the country.
Based on a report from Forbes, Anthoni Salim and Family have a total wealth of up to US$ 7.5 billion or the equivalent of IDR 114 trillion (based on the current dollar exchange rate, IDR 15,200/US dollar).
Thanks to that, Anthoni Salim and his family are now in 3rd place on the Forbes list of RI's richest people, right below R. Budi & Michael Hartono; and the Widjaja family.
Anthoni himself is the youngest of three children of the late Liem Sioe Liong or Om Liem, a tycoon who for decades was very close to President Suharto. Thanks to Uncle Liem, Indomie exists.
In 1998, right after President Suharto was removed from power, the Salim family had lost their control of Bank Central Asia (bank BCA).
However, currently Anthoni Salim himself is heading the Salim Group, with investments in food, retail, banking, telecommunications and energy.
Not only that, the Salim family owns shares in a Hong Kong-listed investment company, First Pacific, which has assets of US$ 27 billion in six countries. Currently, Indomie products made by the Salim family are the most popular instant noodles in Indonesia, even abroad. Indomie products are also sold at Indomaret.
