History Breaks! Elon Musk Becomes the First Person in the World to Reach IDR 10,000 Trillion in Wealth
Holiday Ayo - Elon Musk set a new record as the world's richest person, with a fortune exceeding US$600 billion, equivalent to IDR 10,000 trillion (exchange rate of IDR 16,680 per US dollar), according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Previously, last October, Musk's wealth also reached US$500 billion, making him the first person in the world to reach a net worth of over IDR 8,000 trillion.
This surge in wealth occurred after his rocket company, SpaceX, conducted a tender offer valuing the company at US$800 billion (approximately IDR 13,378 trillion), more than doubling its valuation of US$400 billion last August.
According to a Forbes report, Musk, who owns approximately 42 percent of SpaceX shares, saw his assets increase to US$168 billion (approximately IDR 16,716.1 trillion).
Thus, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO's total net worth is now estimated at US$677 billion (approximately IDR 11,323 trillion) as of early this week US time.
This achievement makes Musk the first person to surpass the US$600 billion wealth threshold. Previously, no other individual had ever reached this figure.
SpaceX itself is reportedly preparing an initial public offering (IPO) in 2026. If the IPO goes through, with a valuation of around US$1.5 trillion, Musk has the potential to become the world's first trillionaire.
Even without an IPO, SpaceX is now the most valuable asset in Musk's portfolio. Forbes estimates Musk's SpaceX holdings are worth US$336 billion, surpassing the value of his Tesla shares, which are currently valued at around US$197 billion.
In addition to SpaceX and Tesla, Musk's wealth is also supported by xAI Holdings, a merger between AI startup xAI and social media platform X.
This company is reportedly exploring new funding with a valuation of US$230 billion. Forbes estimates Musk owns 53 percent of xAI Holdings, worth around US$60 billion.
Musk's wealth surge over the past five years has been extreme. In March 2020, his total wealth was still around US$24.6 billion.
Since then, his valuation has skyrocketed along with Tesla's stock rally and SpaceX's growth. This led to Elon Musk becoming the fifth person in the world to reach US$100 billion in wealth in August of that year.
The rise hasn't stopped. Musk surpassed US$300 billion in November 2021, then surpassed US$400 billion in December 2024, and reached US$500 billion in October 2025.
To date, only one other person has ever reached the US$300 billion and US$400 billion levels: Oracle founder Larry Ellison.
