Holiday Ayo - The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) and Iran have established a synergy to strengthen Indonesia's agricultural sector through technological and scientific cooperation to increase stronger and more sustainable food productivity.

Iran is also committed to strengthening Indonesia's agricultural sector through technological and scientific cooperation. 

“Iran is very advanced in the latest high-tech irrigation systems and technology for food preservation," said Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Boroujerdi when meeting Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman at the Ministry of Agriculture Headquarters, Tuesday (30/4). 

Boroujerdi said that Iran has various technologies, including production storage machines, planting machines, preservation machines and other advanced machines such as water propulsion or pumping systems. 

“We even have other technologies for agriculture and we will share our experiences in this field," he said. 

Apart from that, Boroujerdi said that his party would encourage import-export exchanges in the horticulture subsector, especially those related to fruit. Iran itself, he said, has many quality fruits that can complement food offerings in Indonesia. 

“We have many areas for establishing cooperation between Indonesia and Iran, we have different fruits that can complement both countries, of course through exports and imports of both countries," he hoped. 

So far, Iran has been known as a country famous for its technological advances. Iran even has its own technology that can increase agricultural production. 

For your information, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman continues to focus on increasing rice and corn production as Indonesia's future commodities. 

One of the efforts is to create a quick solution to anticipate El Nino with pumping technology and processing swamp land. 

“Our target in the next two years is to achieve self-sufficiency, and then Indonesia will become the world's food basket," stressed Minister of Agriculture Amran.
