To determine the ranking, the researchers analyzed various factors, ranging from the cost of carrying animals, how many animals can be carried by passengers, to the number of species of animals allowed to ride.
Based on this assessment, Turkish Airlines is the most animal-friendly airline in the world. The cost to bring a pet to the airline, starting from 8 US dollars or IDR 125 thousand.
The Turkish airline also allows passengers to carry four animals into the cabin. Or three animals brought separately in a cage measuring up to 93 cm.
Meanwhile, the second position is occupied by an airline from Japan, All Nippon Airways (ANA), which offers prices ranging from US$50 or IDR 782 thousand to US$400 or IDR 6.2 million per animal.
Despite having a higher fare than Turkish Airlines, ANA allows eight types of animals to board its flights, including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, hamsters, and ferrets.
The third rank is occupied by a low-cost carrier from the US, namely Spirit. The airline, which is identical to the yellow color, provides flat fares for passengers who want to take their pets along. Meanwhile, the tariff charged is 125 US dollars or around IDR 1.9 million.
The Florida-based airline allows passengers to bring dogs, cats, birds, and rabbits with a maximum number of two animals per passenger.
