Moulin Rouge, Offers the Sensation of Staying at a Windmill

Holiday Ayo - Moulin Rouge, Paris in collaboration with Airbnb provides an opportunity for travelers to enjoy the sensation of staying in a luxurious room in a windmill building.

Citing CNN, the secret room in the world-famous crimson windmill was transformed into a luxurious room draped in pastel curtains and decorated with fin de siècle artifacts.

The Moulin Rouge is located in the Montmartre district, Paris, France. This windmill has been the main venue since it was built in the 1920s. For tourists, it's incomplete to visit the City of Light without seeing the Moulin Rouge. Inside, travelers can watch the Feerie cabaret show.

It was also the setting for Baz Luhrmann's 2001 film Moulin Rouge!, which revived interest in cabaret and its history.

The windmill renovations were carried out for the Airbnb partnership, including decorating the terraced area near the windmill with fairy lights and a pagoda. This makes it the ideal place to sing under stars like Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman.

Airbnb's regional director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Emmanuel Marill said that only a select few can book a stay at this establishment. After all, Moulin Rouge Airbnb is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"If you're lucky enough to get a bed in the windmill for one night, you'll be charged a symbolic fee of one euro (about $1)," says Marill.

This venue can be booked for only three nights, 13th, 20th and 27th June. Apart from spending the night at the windmill, guests will also be able to enjoy a typical Moulin Rouge cabaret show and three French dishes.

However, not all the facilities provided are luxurious. Guests must fast only with the presence of a shared bathroom.

Prospective guests can start making reservations from 17 May. Anyone wishing to book must have an Airbnb profile and a history of at least three positive reviews from previous stays.

In addition, tourists will also be asked to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to arrival to Moulin Rouge.
