Holiday Ayo - When breaking the fast, Muslims are advised to consume sweets. The recommended food is dates.

However, Cianjur, which is an area in West Java, has many special culinary delights that can be enjoyed for takjil during the month of Ramadan. One of them is Rogan, with a sweet taste and an appetizing aroma.

Rogan is an abbreviation of Roti and Dawegan according to the main ingredients used to make it.

Rogan is a special culinary delight that has been very popular for several years, and is not only liked by the people of Cianjur, many people from outside Cianjur also like it.

According to data from the Instagram of the Cianjur Culture and Tourism Office, Rogan Soup has been made since 2010 by a mother named Empat Kurniawati.

She made it because she was inspired by the type of snack food that her parents often made, namely Jojongkong.

The difference is, if Joojongkong is made from rice flour mixed with kinca (liquid brown sugar), while Rogan is a combination of bread, young coconut meat, green beans, sugar palm fruit, pandan leaves and sauce from milk and coconut milk.

Initially, Empat Kurniawati made Rogan only to be eaten by children and their families. However, over time Rogan was sold to relatives, neighbors and friends, which finally made Rogan enthusiasts increasingly widespread until now.

Making Rogan is not complicated and in fact quite simple. All the ingredients are put into banana leaves then doused with coconut milk and condensed milk sauce.

After that, after being wrapped tightly, it is steamed for approximately 10 minutes. After the fragrant aroma is smelled and the leaves change color, remove from the steamer.

The sauce from coconut milk and condensed milk makes Rogan have a sweet and legit taste, delicious and also unique.

Not only does it taste good, but the pandan leaves and banana leaves make the aroma of Rogan so tempting to eat.
