Rumored to be haunted, this is the story behind the tallest Mangkarak building in the world

Holiday Ayo - The Goldin Finance 117 building in Tianjin, China is the tallest abandoned building in the world. This skyscraper was left uninhabited for more than a decade.

Quoting UNILAD, when it was built in 2008, this building was recorded as the fifth tallest building in the world. But until now, his fate is unclear.

This building is also known as 'The Walking Stick' because of its sharp shape that rises upwards. This building has a height of 1,957 feet or around 596.5 meters, almost 600 meters.

The building has 128 floors in it. Now, this building seems to be an 'ugly sight' for Chinese citizens. Because it was left uninhabited for dozens of years, this building was rumored to be haunted.

Goldin Finance was originally built to be the center of a luxury residential area and business district in Tianjin. The building construction is part of billionaire Pat Sutong's Goldin Metropolitan scheme.

However, not long after it was first built, the development project was stopped in 2010 due to the economic crisis that hit.

In 2011, construction continued. But not long after that, the Chinese government stopped building construction indefinitely in 2018.

At that time, the government prohibited the construction of skyscrapers whose height exceeded 1,640 feet or around 500 meters.

This prohibition arises for safety reasons. This ban ultimately encouraged architects to focus on reviving buildings in Chinese cultural styles, instead of imitating foreign cultures.
