T.O.P Firmly Denies Rumors of Rejoining BIGBANG

Former BIGBANG member T.O.P, also known as Choi Seung Hyun, has firmly denied rumors suggesting his return to the group that launched his career.
On Tuesday (February 11, 2025), T.O.P’s representatives issued an official statement addressing the speculation circulating on social media. They emphasized that his decision to leave BIGBANG remains final and unchanged.
“T.O.P’s stage name on Choi Seung Hyun’s social media profile remains the same as before, with no alterations. His status as a former BIGBANG member has not changed, as he has previously stated in interviews,” the statement read.
Rumors of his return surfaced after fans noticed that his name was still listed alongside G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung on BIGBANG’s official YouTube account. Additionally, his social media profile, which still includes the name "T.O.P Choi Seung Hyun," fueled speculation that he had not completely severed ties with the group.
However, in a past interview with Netflix, T.O.P explicitly stated that he would not be returning to BIGBANG.
“After completing my military service, I realized that I had caused many problems for BIGBANG. I decided to leave because I did not want to be a burden to them,” T.O.P said while discussing his role in Squid Game 2.
He also confirmed that his decision to depart had been made long ago, right after the release of Still Life.
“When my contract ended, I chose to leave following the Still Life project. I would feel ashamed if I returned. However, by working on my own, I can take full responsibility for my past mistakes. If I were to rejoin the group, things wouldn’t feel the same, and I don’t want to burden them,” he added.
With this statement, T.O.P has once again made it clear that he has no plans to return to BIGBANG, despite ongoing speculation and fan hopes.
