Baronogsai has a history of thousands of years. The first record, this dance can be traced to the Chin Dynasty around the third century BC.
In Indonesia, lion dance shows are busy ahead of the Chinese New Year.
Barongsai art became popular during the South-North dynasty (Nan Bei) in 420-589 AD. At that time, King Song Wen's army was overwhelmed by the attack of Fan Yang's elephant troop from Lin Yi country.
A warlord named Zhong Que made a clone of a stuffed lion to repel King Fan's troops. Apparently, the effort was successful until finally the legendary lion dance.
In Feng Shui, Barongsai has several meanings that can make a place better, namely: Removing negative energy - the loud sound of drums and cymbals will purify or clean an area/place that has negative and bad chi/energy, becoming new and fresh energy.

Brings good luck - as a symbol of strength and brings good luck with the existence of Barongsai. Barongsai consists of two main types, namely the North Lion and the South Lion.
The Northern Lion is the one with the curly mane and has four legs. The appearance of the North Lion looks more natural and looks like a lion than the South Lion which has scales and a number of legs that vary, between two or four.
The head of the Southern Lion is equipped with horns so that it sometimes looks like a "kilin" animal. The movements of the North Lion and South Lion are also different. The Southern lion is known for its loud head movements and bouncy to the beat of gongs and drums.
Dances may be extended or may be out of habit of playing. Barongsai is also accompanied by great music in the form of drums, gongs and cymbals. Basically, the ceremony is often accompanied by firecrackers.
