The reason Makasar City is nicknamed the City of Good Food

Holiday Ayo - Makassar City has a new nickname, namely the City of Good Food, why is that?
Culinary historian Andreas Maryoto said that this nickname was indeed fitting for Makassar.
Makassar, he continued, is a city with a variety of delicious culinary delights that are famous in other regions.
“So Makassar culinary delights are plentiful and delicious. One of the things that is famous even outside the region is Makassar Konro," said Andreas as quoted by cnnindonesia.com.
Apart from konro, other foods that are very typical of Makassar include coto, green banana ice, jalangkote, Soup Brother, dry noodles, banana epe, barangko, pallu basa, and various other dishes.
The nickname 'good food city' certainly doesn't just focus on the food.
According to second-generation Makassar culinary specialist Sup Konro Karebosi Niar Hanafie, Makassar people's eating habits are also quite different from others.
“We have different ways and eating habits. This habit may be considered too heavy, but that's the average for us in Makassar, that's how we eat," said Nia, on the same occasion.
For example, the coto menu is used by Makassar people as a breakfast menu. This is clearly different from most people who use chicken porridge, bread or fried rice as their breakfast menu.
“In Makassar, the coto stall is open from 6 am to 12 noon. It is intended for breakfast. So we, the average Makassarese, eat coto breakfast," said Nia During the day, Makassar people choose to eat sibling soup.
Your soup itself is a combination of beef and beef offal doused in soup sauce. This soup is usually served with rice and chili sauce as a complement.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon or evening, Makassar people usually choose konro soup as their dinner menu.
“Usually, if you're still hungry, you'll eat again at half past two in the morning. Usually you eat titi noodles. But not every night, only occasionally if you're really hungry," he said.
Although not everyone does it every day, the average Makassarese person chooses the above method of eating to enjoy the abundant and delicious culinary offerings in their hometown.
