Thick Smoke Covers Petronas Tower: Major Fire Shocks Kuala Lumpur

Holiday Ayo -

A massive fire broke out at Petronas Tower 3 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday (November 1, 2025). The blaze reportedly originated from a restaurant located on the 57th floor of the skyscraper.

Photos circulating online showed flames and thick black smoke billowing from the upper levels of the building, with the iconic Petronas Twin Towers clearly visible in the background — a scene that quickly sparked alarm across the city.

Despite the dramatic visuals, no casualties were reported.
Sentul Fire and Rescue Chief Mohd Hafizan Hassan confirmed that about 30 percent of the restaurant area sustained damage due to the fire.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to other floors, successfully minimizing further destruction.

“The building has been reopened to the public, but the restaurant where the fire started remains temporarily closed pending a full investigation,”
Hafizan stated.

For context, Petronas Tower 3, also known as Menara Carigali, is part of the Petronas Twin Towers complex, one of Malaysia’s most prominent business and tourism landmarks located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
