Zelensky Asked Not to Be Rash About Revealing Chinese Citizens in Ukraine, Touching on Wisdom

Holiday Ayo - The Chinese government on Thursday (10/4), called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's accusation that Russia is actively recruiting its citizens to fight in Ukraine as "irresponsible".
"We urge relevant parties to be correct and wise about China's role and refrain from making irresponsible remarks," Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday (10/4).
On Thursday (10/4), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on his social media X again uploaded about Chinese citizens who were arrested in Ukraine for being Russian soldiers.
Zelensky said he had accurate data on more than 150 Chinese citizens involved in Russia's war against Ukraine.
Earlier on Tuesday (8/4), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky via his social media account X said his troops captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting for the Russian army in the Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine complete with their identity documents, including their bank cards and personal data.
"China did not start the Ukrainian crisis, and China is also not a party to the conflict. We firmly support and actively strive for a peaceful resolution of the crisis," added Lin Jian.
The Chinese government, said Lin Jian, always asks its citizens to stay away from areas of armed conflict.
"We also ask Chinese citizens to avoid any form of involvement in armed conflict, and in particular to avoid participating in military operations of any party," said Lin Jian.
In his social media account, Zelensky said that Ukrainian troops fought against six Chinese soldiers and captured two of them as prisoners and that there were more Chinese citizens in the Russian troops.
The post was also accompanied by a video showing one of the Chinese prisoners handcuffed, speaking in Mandarin, although it was not stated when the video was taken.
In addition to Chinese troops, Ukraine previously said that North Korea had sent thousands of soldiers to help Russia.
About 1,000 North Koreans were killed fighting Ukrainians at Kursk, Ukrainian officials say.
China has also consistently refused to deploy peacekeeping troops to the Ukrainian conflict zone, should peace be achieved there.
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and Moscow now controls about 20 percent of Ukraine, mostly in the east.
