Bali Becomes the Location for Destination Wedding Planners Congress 2022
Holiday Ayo - Bali has become the location for Destination Wedding Planners (DWP) Congress 2022. It is an international Business-to-Business congress that is held annually, involving the wedding industry. It will be held on September 27th to 29th 2022.
“This event will gather those who are involved in wedding industry from all over the world to Bali, to show off Bali as a wedding destination,” says the Head of Operations of QNA International, Tanvir Ahmed, during Weekly Press Briefing, as cited from Kompas.com.
He explains that during these 3 days, the participants of the events will be able to meet those who are involved in wedding business. They include those from hotel industry, decoration business, and wedding organizers.
Ahmed says that there are already around 460 wedding planners that will join this congress, and more than 50 countries have confirmed their attendances. Destination Wedding Planners Congress 2022 will include several events, such as exhibition, discussion, and even networking session.
The Tourism Ministry’s Director of Tourism Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition, Masruroh claims that there are some countries with the biggest participants. Those countries are India, United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, England, Australia, and Nigeria.
This congress had been held in other countries before, such as Thailand, Greece, Italy, and Mexico. Masruroh hopes that this event will be able to restore the wedding industry that has been down for the last 2 years.
“The vendors and workers in creative economy sectors that are connected to weddings, whether they are florists or wedding organizers, in the regions don’t have a chance to work. So now we will restore it with DWP Annual Congress,” he says.
This event will be very impactful for Indonesian wedding industry as a whole. They will invite the wedding organizers from all over Indonesia for a chance of networking.
“So we will bring in 35 speakers from 15 countries that attend it. We will optimally invite Indonesia’s wedding organizers, both the vendors from Bali and from other cities, to meet and create a network,” he explains.
Indonesian Tourism Minister, Sandiaga Uno also hopes that this event will help the local economic conditions, especially those involved in wedding services. This congress is also important in introducing Bali as a luxury destination, thus opening a chance for collaborations with other parties.
