The Beauty of Batu Gajah in Rokan Hulu Regency

Holiday Ayo - Rokan Hulu Regency is indeed rich in natural attractions such as waterfalls and a number of water spot vacations with cool and clear water because it blends with its exotic nature. With beautiful natural scenery and lush natural forests, the water spot vacation in Rokan Hulu, Riau Province is not inferior to the natural water spots in other areas in Indonesia and even in the world.

This area, surrounded by elephant stones is completely natural or has not been touched and arranged by the local government. This unclean object is known by the local community as Batu Gajah.

Batu Gajah is located in Pawan Village, Rambah District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province.

During the trip, visitors will be offered a beautiful view, there is a natural forest. Not only that, the cool temperature can be immediately felt as soon as visitors arrive at the location. The small river water almost resembles a waterfall, it is clear that the aquatic biota swimming freely in the water. Surrounded by large stones, as if neatly arranged to resemble a bath. Small water ripples, making the atmosphere at the location cooler.

This bathhouse has only been visited by many residents in the past year, both from Pasir Pangaraian, Rokan Hilir Regency, and from the Riau region.

 

Meanwhile, for tourists outside Riau, not many people know about the existence of this natural tourist spot.

History
This area is called Batu Gajah because the water spot or bath here has a stone that at first glance resembles an elephant bathing in the river. According to the community, the stone resembled the elephant which still had wide ears that are characteristic of elephants.

Over time, the shape of the ear in Batu Gajah is gradually disappearing and the cause is unknown and the elephant's ear has disappeared.

How To Get There

Getting to the Batu Gajah location does require and needs a little sincerity because the road that is passed is still original in the form of a bumpy dirt road. With a 2 meter wide road, it can only be passed by two-wheeled vehicles and can be reached within 20 minutes from Pasir Pangaraian or 15 minutes from Jalan Besar Simpang Pawan.

Entrance Fee
Visitors are free to swim there. But, it's not recommended for children to swim without being accompanied by adults because the water depth reaches more than 3 meters.
