West Sumatera
For wedding customs, the West Sumatran people usually wear the Penghulu and Bundo Kanduang clothes. Riau
For the Riau region, the wedding dress used is a kebaya. Similar to other traditional Sumatran clothing, Riau traditional clothing has a strong influence from Malay culture.

Malay clothing such as the Baju kurung, the cekak musang, to the Teluk Belanga dress are commonly worn by the Riau people in traditional ceremonies or other official events.

The form of Riau's traditional clothing is generally closed and long which shows the value of modesty and the religion of Islam. The strong Malay influence can be seen from the model which is simple, loose and has a high collar.

Java
Javanese traditional clothing is identical to the kebaya, velvet cloth to batik cloth. Batik has long been recognized as one of the identities of the Indonesian people. In fact, in 2009 UNESCO established batik as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Unlike other regions, Javanese people believe black is the color for weddings.
