Ministry of Transportation Applies Tariffs of IDR 0 for Airplane Services at the Airport

Holiday Ayo - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has set a policy of imposing a non-tax state revenue (PNBP) rate of IDR 0 (zero rupiahs) or zero percent for Aircraft Landing, Placement, and Storage Services (PJP4U) at airports. This is stated in the Decree of the Director General of Civil Aviation Number PR 14 of 2022.

"With the enactment of this provision, air transportation business entities (airlines) will enjoy zero rupiah tariffs (free of charge) for aircraft landing, placement, and storage services which only apply at UPBU (Airport Service Units)," said Acting Director General of Civil Aviation. Kemenhub Nur Isnin Istiartono in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, August 2.

Nur Isnin conveyed that the zero rupiah PNBP rate was given to the Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Business Entity that operates on flight routes from and/or to airports managed by UPBU within the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, except for pioneering air transportation.

This, he said, was a form of the government's efforts to encourage economic growth by providing relief for one component of aircraft operating costs.

"The imposition of a zero rupiah tariff is given according to the operating hours of each airport," he said.

With this policy, air transportation business entities or airlines will enjoy zero rupiah tariffs for aircraft landing, placement, and storage services which only apply at UPBU.

"This is a manifestation of the government to encourage economic growth by providing relief for one component of aircraft operating costs." he explained in a written statement, Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

This zero rupiah PNBP tariff is given to Scheduled Commercial Air Transport Business Entities that operate in real terms serving flight routes from and or to airports managed by UPBU within the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, except for pioneering air transportation.

"The imposition of a zero rupiah tariff is given according to the operating hours of each airport," said Nur Isnin.

In order for the implementation of this policy to run according to the provisions, the Secretary General of Civil Aviation, Director of Airports, and Director of Air Transport, Ministry of Transportation are responsible for supervising. He added that the policy would be in effect until the end of 2022.

"This policy is set on July 26, 2022, and takes effect from 3 (three) days from its stipulation until December 31, 2022, at 00.00 a.m. local time," he said.
