Regarding IOI, Haris says that it is a very tough competition where all the participants need to hone their skills in informatics. He is happy to finally join again after 2 years of the competition being held online, because he misses seeing his friends from other countries.

The Dean of the Faculty of Media Arts Record, Irwandi explains that in this occasion, they were holding workshops about photography and cinematography. It was meant to refresh the participants of IOI after the first day of competition.

“These activities in ISI can give balance between the world of technology and the local cultures that exist in Indonesia,” he says, as cited from tribunnews.com.

This chance was also used to disseminate ISI Yogyakarta on International level. The workshops were held in Pandeng Gallery, which collaborated with Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique (FIAP).

The Head of the Association for Computer Olympic Team Alumni, Reinhart Hermanus says that all the activities have gone smoothly. The participants also looked enthusiastic during the excursion to ISI. They seemed excited to learn about Indonesian cultures, from the dances, gamelan, comic, and many others.

“IOI is an event of UNESCO, so other than as competition, it is also meant for culture exchange and friendship. So the contestants do not just compete, but they also get a spare time to tour and blend in with each other and get to know Indonesian culture,” he explains.

Reinhart says that the participants of IOI are the best young talents from every country in the field of informatics. Now that Indonesia becomes the host, they hope to be able to increase awareness about the young digital talents in Indonesia, especially in the field of informatics.
