Bolo Sego was found at the beginning of the pandemic, in April 2020. The owner, Dyah Laily Fardisa says that she established this business because her previous one was affected by the pandemic. Before starting a new business, she and her husband did some research before settling for a culinary business.

Dyah chose to sell Oseng Mercon because she wanted to make food that has been legendary and familiar, not one that was new and. She also wanted a portion of food that has cultural significance.

Because she was not proficient in cooking, she collaborated with some people with the needed skills who were in need of a job after the pandemic struck. To this day, Bolo Sego has around 350 resellers with dozens of agents all around Indonesia, like Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Jakarta, and Bekasi.



Bolo Sego’s Oseng Mercon can last for 2 weeks in room temperature. If you keep it inside the fridge, it can last for a month. There are also many people from other countries who order this dish. At the moment, Bolo Sego only accepts orders from three countries outside of Indonesia: Singapore, Malaysia, and China.
