Surabaya Zoo is around 15,3 hectares wide. There are around 350 species of animals here, divided into fowls, reptiles, fish, and mammals.

You can feed the giraffes at 10 a.m. every day, or you can see the komodo dragons eating at 13 a.m. every holiday. There is also an area called “Kids Zoo” where children can interact with some of the animals, like birds, turtles, cats, and sheep.

Surabaya Zoo is a popular place for a family trip or even a date with significant other because it is quite low-priced. There are a lot of nice photo spots in every corner of the area. There are also many sitting spots where you can take a rest. Some visitors actually bring their own lunches while having a picnic.

Surabaya Zoo also has other fun tourist attractions. You can explore the river with a boat or ride a carriage pulled by a camel. You can also ride some of the animals, like the elephants.

For schools who want to bring their students to Surabaya Zoo, the place also offers educational packet. The price starts from IDR 20,000. You can also get your pictures taken professionally with the price of IDR 15,000.
