Breaking Record by Defeating Brazil, Japan Coach Admits He's Not Satisfied

Holiday Ayo - The Japanese national team made history by defeating Brazil for the first time. Coach Hajime Moriyasu was pleased, but not satisfied.

Japan defeated Brazil 3-2 in a FIFA Matchday friendly match on Tuesday (October 14th) at Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo.

The Samba team took a two-goal lead through Henrique and Martinelli.

The Samurai Blue staged a comeback. Three goals were scored by Minamino, Nakamura, and Ueda.

This was the first time in history since 1989 that Japan had defeated Brazil. Previously, Japan had only managed two draws and 11 losses!

"Japan had never beaten Brazil. So, the players took on the challenge and gave their all. The result was a win," explained Japan national team coach Hajime Moriyasu, as reported by Reuters.

"This victory is the result of the hard work of every generation of players," he added.

Hajime Moriyasu was not satisfied.

He emphasized the need for his team to continue improving. Minamino and his teammates must continue to improve and be ready to go all out for the 2026 World Cup.

"We have to keep doing what we do every day, trying to improve step by step," he said.

"The World Cup won't be easy, and I think Brazil will emerge stronger. So, we have to keep improving," he concluded.
