Viral in Indonesia, Here's Why Dubai Chocolate is Expensive
Holiday Ayo - Recently, the Dubai chocolate mukbang trend has gone viral on social media.
In addition to authentic Dubai chocolate, a number of cake and chocolate shops in Indonesia have also released this product.
Dubai chocolate is characterized by a kunafa (knafeh) filling mixed with pistachios. The filling is green, wrapped in melted chocolate.
The shape of this chocolate bar is elongated with a gap that can be broken into several pieces.
In terms of price, Dubai chocolate is known to be expensive, above the average Indonesian chocolate bar.
"I heard that the price (of Dubai chocolate) is around IDR 600,000 if converted to rupiah," said Tissa Aunilla, Co-Founder of Pipiltin, when met by the media at the Dubai Chocolate Pipiltin release event, Thursday (11/14).
She herself sells Dubai chocolate for IDR 295,000 per 150 gram package.
According to Tissa, the relatively expensive price of Dubai chocolate is indeed due to the type of ingredients and its manufacture.
"We ourselves really stay true to the cost. Not because it's a viral opportunity," added Tissa.

"The chocolate itself uses couverture chocolate and the kunafa filling itself is indeed homemade from Mardin Baklava with a special kunafa machine produced by ourselves," said Tissa.
Not to mention the pistachios used also come from Istanbul with a premium quality level, as conveyed by Tissa.
Not to mention, the packaging of Dubai chocolate is in the form of a box with a special design, specially designed at a high cost.
