Holiday Ayo - Namata is a tourism village in Sabu Raijua Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. This village is located on Sabu Island, also called Savu. The island is located the south of Savu Sea, to the east of Sumba Island, and to the west of Rote Island. The local people call this island Rai Hawu.

Namata Village is said to be found by a figure called Sabu Raijua. He had four children and it is said that his fourth child was the one who created the four big tribes in that area.

Namata Village has many cultural and historical tourist attractions. In terms of religion, some of the villagers adhere to a belief called jingtiu. Jingtiu itself is a sacred word that cannot be uttered lightly. For some of the people there who have embraced religions that are acknowledged in Indonesia, jingtiu is seen as an atheist group.

The people on Sabu Island still preserve their traditional customs and those who still adhere to jingtiu are said to worship their ancestors. In 1970, other religions became known on the island. More people adhere to Christianity and jingtiu began to be forgotten.

When tourists enter Namata Village, they will be asked to wear the traditional clothes of this place. It is a fabric, or sarong with the typical motif of Sabu. The island is known for its woven fabrics. They make all kinds of things like sarongs, blankets, and shawls. You have to wear them to show your respect for the traditional custom of the place.

The woven fabrics in Sabu Island are colored with natural dye that is taken from leaves. The colors are usually blue and black from the true indigo plants, red from noni, and yellow from turmeric. The motifs are usually in the shapes of plants or animals.

When you visit the village, you will see the unique traditional houses of Sabu, with many arranged rocks that are considered sacred and magical.

Each of the sacred rocks has its own name and function. There is a rock to win a war and there is even a rock to find your soulmate. There is a rock called rue that is used specifically in the ritual for the people who die because of an accident, suicide, or fire.

Tourists are always reminded to be very careful in stepping or touching these rocks. There are even 2 rocks at the edges of the village that cannot be photographed. If you violate these rules, there will be sickness or other bad things coming your way.
