Holiday Ayo - Bank Indonesia (BI) observes that loans disbursed by banks in April 2022 continue to show a positive trend. Credit disbursement in April 2022 was recorded at IDR 5,969.1 trillion, or grew by 8.8% year on year (yoy). Higher than the previous month which only rose 6.4%, yoy.

The central bank stated that the acceleration of credit growth came from both corporate and individual debtors. It was noted that loans to individuals grew from 8.4 percent yoy in March 2022 to 8.9 percent yoy in April 2022. Meanwhile, corporate loans increased from 5.9 percent yoy in March 2022 to 10.3 percent yoy in April 2022.

When viewed by type of use, an increase in lending also occurred in all types of use in April 2022.

BI noted that working capital loans (KMK) grew 11.4 percent yoy to IDR 2,714 trillion, of which the increase occurred in distribution in the trade, hotel and restaurant (PHR) sector, as well as the manufacturing sector.

Along with the increase in credit in the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Retail Trade sub-sector in DKI Jakarta and West Java, KMK in the PHR sector in April 2022 grew by 7.5 percent yoy.

Then, the KMK in the manufacturing sector grew by 12.6 percent yoy, especially for the cooking oil sub-sector from crude palm oil in North Sumatra and Lampung.

Meanwhile, investment credit (KI) increased 7.2 percent yoy to IDR 1,536.6 trillion in April 2022, especially in the agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishery sectors as well as the processing industry.

In line with credit growth in the productive sector, consumption credit (KK) also accelerated by 6.4 percent yoy to IDR 1,718.5 trillion. This was driven by the distribution of motor vehicle loans (KKB) rose 4.9 percent yoy and multipurpose loans rose 4.5 percent. Meanwhile, housing loans (KPR) recorded a more rapid growth, which was 10 percent on an annual basis.
