Paramore Joins the No Music for Genocide Movement, Withdraws Its Music Catalog from Israel

Holiday Ayo - American rock band Paramore, along with vocalist Hayley Williams, has decided to pull their entire music catalog from streaming services in Israel, including Spotify.

The No Music for Genocide boycott is a form of participation. This means all of their work, both from Paramore's discography and Hayley Williams' solo projects, will no longer be accessible in the country.

This stance follows Paramore's previous vocal stance. Last May, the band publicly called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

At the time, they also emphasized that support for Palestine is not the same as anti-Semitism.

"We stand with those calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire," Paramore wrote.

"We believe that support for our Palestinian friends and family is not the same as anti-Semitism. However, we cannot support genocide," the statement continued.

The No Music for Genocide movement itself is a boycott supported by hundreds of musicians in response to the conflict in Gaza.

Paramore's move follows other musicians who have already joined, such as Massive Attack and Rina Sawayama.
