Russia Shoots Down 249 Ukrainian Drones Overnight

Holiday Ayo - Russia and Ukraine continue to trade fire. The Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday (November 25th) that it had shot down at least 249 Ukrainian drones in overnight attacks.

"Over the past night, from 11:00 p.m. Moscow time on November 24th to 7:00 a.m. on November 25th, air defense warning systems intercepted and destroyed 249 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said, as reported by AFP news agency on Tuesday (November 25th).

 

Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Russia's Rostov Region said at least three people were killed in a Ukrainian attack on Monday evening (November 24th) local time.

 

"Tonight's enemy attack brings deep sorrow," said the governor, Yuri Sliusar.

 

In the region's port city of Taganrog, which recorded one of the deaths, Mayor Svetlana Kambulova promised to take "necessary response measures."

 

In the border region of Krasnodar, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev called the overnight attack

 

"one of the most sustained and massive attacks by the Kyiv regime."

 

Meanwhile, across the border in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, AFP journalists heard powerful explosions and saw people running for cover as air raid sirens blared.

 

The overnight barrage of Russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv killed two people and injured six others, the state emergency service announced before dawn on Tuesday (November 25).

 

"In Kyiv, as a result of the night attack, two people were killed, six were injured, and 18 people were rescued, including three children," Ukraine's State Emergency Service wrote on Telegram.

 

"State Emergency Service units continue to work at the sites of impact and debris fall," it added.
