The Uniqueness of PannaLab, a Space for Photo Lovers
Holiday Ayo - Photography lovers in Bekasi have a hidden gem gathering place. Currently, there is a space for photography enthusiasts called PannaLab.
This place is a space for photo enthusiasts to gather. Inside there is a photo exhibition room which displays many photographers' works.
Then there is also a library room which has a large collection containing things related to the world of photography.
Apart from that, there is a coffee shop entitled PannaKopi which is a meeting place for photography enthusiasts.
PannaLab can be considered a home for photo lovers. The reason is that this place often holds photo-themed activities.
PannaLab is indeed very photographic, because it was built by the non-profit organization PannaFoto Institute which has been established since 2006.
“Here there are shops, coffee shops, library rooms, as well as places where there is photography education. For example, classes, workshops. The workshops can range from visual literacy, which has been carried out on how to manage exhibitions, organizing exhibitions, curating workshops, " said the manager of the PannaLab room, Andika Budiman, as reported by travel.detik.com.
This place is even more interesting because it can combine photography, a library and a coffee shop. It's not surprising that PannaLab is the favorite hangout location for Bekasi children.
“The main thing this place offers may be different from cafes in general. We offer food and drinks that are simpler to make. But here there is a library that can be accessed, the collection of which may be different from other places," he added.
In the PannaLab library, travelers can find a large collection of books related to photography. Starting from books by photographers from many parts of the world, to practical photo books.
Like The Photographer's Guide to Light or Lonely Planet's Guide to Travel Photography, or even a book on editing techniques.
“Most of them have something to do with photography. But photography touches various fields of knowledge. Some are about culture, history, fashion too," he said.
“Books on how to edit, books on lighting techniques, and then there are books about using Adobe Photoshop. But furthermore there are photo books, for example, or about the history of images for children. Actually there are all kinds of books available," Andika explained.
Apart from that, in the work exhibition space, this place is also open for photographers or parties to exhibit their work.
“There is a room or space that is used to hold exhibitions. For example, earlier this year there was an exhibition of stories behind the stories of Panna Future Talent participants, one of the programs run by the PannaFoto Institute," he said.
