Trump Responsible for Israel's Massive Attack on Iran Last June

Holiday Ayo - US President Donald Trump claimed he played a major role in Israel's attack on Iran on June 13, which killed several top Iranian generals and nuclear scientists.

This statement contradicts previous US claims that Israel acted unilaterally.

"Israel attacked first. It was a very, very devastating attack. I take full responsibility for that attack," Trump told reporters on Thursday (November 6).

"When Israel attacked Iran the first time, it was a great day for Israel because it did more damage than all the other attacks combined," Trump added, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Trump's statement came as he urged Republicans to repeal the "filibuster" to pass legislation in the Senate with a majority vote.

According to Trump, his party must first uphold Senate rules, just as Israel launched a war against Iran.

On June 13, a major Israeli attack on Iran killed several top generals, nuclear scientists, and many civilians. Iran responded by launching hundreds of missiles at Israel.

The US then joined the attack by bombing three key Iranian nuclear facilities. However, at the outset of the attack, the US claimed Israel was acting alone.

"Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in any attack on Iran, and our top priority is protecting US forces in the region," said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the time.

Since the attack, Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US has "totally destroyed" Iran's nuclear program.

This week, Trump himself claimed he started the war in the first place.

In recent weeks, Trump has reiterated that he wants to reach a deal with Iran that would result in Tehran establishing formal relations with Israel.

In the early months of his second term, Trump opened negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program and repeatedly emphasized that he wanted a deal with Tehran.
