Holiday Ayo - Since a long time ago, Bangka Island has been famous for its abundant natural wealth of tin. Initially, this area was a tin ore mining area by a private company. Around 2012, this mine stopped operating and the former excavated mine land was slowly inundated by rainwater.

However, nowadays, this island, which is located in the east of Sumatra, has turned into a tourist destination island that holds many amazing destinations and it is a shame to miss, under the blue one of them.

Over time, this stagnant water turned blue because it was contaminated by the remaining tin content in the area. So, become the dazzling blue lake it is today.

History of Kolong Biru
Kolong Biru or Kulong Biru people call it Kaolin Lake, located on the border of Central Bangka and South Bangka, precisely located in Nibung Village, Koba District, Central Bangka Regency, 60 Km from Depati Amir Airport and about 15 Km from Koba, the capital of Central Bangka Regency.

Initially opened and known to the local community, the road access to it is still red earth, the road is potholes and bumpy, and during the rainy season, it is muddy and slippery. At that time, it still appeared simple, it was not well managed.

However, now it is much different, like a tourist attraction that has received special attention from the local government, the road is so slippery and smooth. When you first set foot in this place, you will be immediately treated to a view of the lake which is quite wide with clean blue water.

The expanse of white land that surrounds this lake also looks very contrasting with the blue water and makes the view even more enchanting. Not far from this blue lake, we can find a lake with a smaller size but has Tosca green water.

The two are located side by side, but have different watercolors and look very contrasting. Despite having water with beautiful and seductive colors, visitors are prohibited from swimming in Kolong Biru.

This is because these two lakes have a depth of up to 20 meters. In addition, the presence of lead content also makes the water in Kolong Biru very dangerous for consumption.
