Santen Island Beach, the First Sharia Beach in Indonesia

Holiday Ayo - Indonesia is very serious about the development of its halal tourism. The government has made some of the early infrastructures to further improve the quality of halal tourism here.

Banyuwangi started their part by opening sharia beach on Pulau Santen Beach. Banyuwangi's Government plans to make the island one of Santen as new tourist destinations will soon be realized. Today the Banyuwangi's Government launch into the beach area of the island Santen sharia.

Santen Island is located in Karangharjo Village, on the south side of old Banyuwangi Station.



The beach is located in the waters territorial of Bali Strait. The name of Santen Island was taken for there are a lot of Santen trees.

The beaches of Santen islet offer beautiful views of Bali Strait and southern Bali. The name of the islet comes from a local plant called Santen, which locals have cultivated since 1965. The sap of the plant is used for eye remedies.

At Santen Island, there is also a fast-flowing river that flows along 2Km separating the city of Banyuwangi and the islands covered by Mangrove. In the middle, there is a delta of the river estuary that forms a small mangrove island.



How to Get There
Sharia beach is located Karangrejo, Banyuwangi District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. The beach itself has a long stretch of black sand. The beach is located on a small yet long island that is completely separated from the mainland. Right at the back of the beach, you can find many trees for shades during hot days. The trees also serve as a drape that isolates this beach from the outside.

To reach this location is easy, for the road is already in good infrastructure. We can reach by using car, motorcycle or even public transportation.
